Hardware
GIC has been designing, installing, and servicing vertical form fill and seal packaging machines for four decades. UK-made to the highest standards, GIC’s machines play an essential role in some of the country’s largest suppliers of hardware. GIC machines are designed and built in Gainsborough to exacting standards.
We are a gold-level partner in the Rockwell Automation PartnerNetwork™ programme, and all our component suppliers are hand-picked for quality and reliability.
Irrespective of whether you are packing nuts, bolts, screws, washers, brackets, handles, hinges, hooks, fixings or any other hardware, we can design a machine customised to your requirements. We back up our engineering excellence with operator training and comprehensive service and maintenance plans to ensure hassle-free ownership.
Our vertical form fill and seal machines offer the optimum combination of effectiveness, reliability and low cost of ownership backed by first class technical and servicing support.
Download BrochureKey Considerations
When packing hardware with a GIC vertical form fill and seal (VFFS) machine, several key considerations must be taken into account to ensure the quality, safety, and efficiency of the packaging process. These considerations include:
Hardware items can vary significantly in size, shape and weight. We will ensure your GIC machine can handle these characteristics.
As hardware can be abrasive, the specified packaging material must be strong enough to hold its contents without tearing or breaking. This means that as well as flowing through the VFFS machine freely, the film must be robust. Other techniques such as protecting the film with forming tube liners can be employed.
We will configure the machine to suit the forming set and in-feed system to handle the specific type of hardware, ensuring smooth and consistent feeding into the machine. We will also work with you to determine the bag style that best suits the hardware and the display requirements.
We design our machines to be very easy to service, maintain, and operate. Downtime is critical, and factories with large volumes demand quick changeovers when moving from one SKU to another..We have over 35 years of experience to draw upon, which is evident in our extensive U.K. install base.
